Eramet Grande C\u00f4te<\/strong> markets two main product families: zircon<\/strong> and titanium products<\/strong> (ilmenite, rutile, and leucoxene).<\/p>\n

The main components of our mineral sands are ilmenite (Fe TiO3<\/sub>), zircon (ZrSiO4<\/sub>), leucoxene, and rutile (TiO2<\/sub>).<\/p>\n

These minerals play an essential role in many industrial sectors<\/strong>, particularly in the production of pigments for paints, coatings, plastics, and ceramics, thanks to their strong opacifying power.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

Ilmenite<\/h2>\n

This sand represents the majority of the production volume of Eramet Grande C\u00f4te. It is available in several grades based on its titanium dioxide (TiO2<\/sub>) content:<\/p>\n

  • Ilmenite 54<\/strong>: contains 54% TiO2<\/sub>, primarily intended for the production of titanium dioxide slag.<\/li>\n
  • Ilmenite 58<\/strong>: with a higher content, is directly sold to pigment producers.<\/li>\n
  • Ilmenite 56<\/strong>: initially considered as an unmarketable production waste, is now part of Eramet Grande C\u00f4te’s commercial products thanks to a standardization effort carried out in partnership with an industry capable of utilizing it.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

    Zircon<\/h2>\n

    Zircon is marketed under three specifications: Premium, Standard, and a lower-grade concentrate called MGZS. All are packaged in the form of sands and shipped in “big bags” suitable for international logistics.<\/p>\n

    Sought after for its robustness and whitening and opacifying properties, zircon is primarily intended for the ceramics industry<\/strong>. Once whitened, it is used in the composition of frits (one of the components of enamel) and glazes. It is also employed in applications such as abrasive or abrasion-resistant materials, nuclear (zirconium metal), and even dental prosthetics.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

    Rutile<\/h2>\n

    Rutile is composed of 95% titanium dioxide. The quality produced is ideal for the electric arc welding market<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

    Leucoxene<\/h2>\n
