In 2025, Eramet Grande Côte (EGC) continues to strengthen its commitment to the Senegalese economy. During the Local Content Fair held on November 27–28, the company reaffirmed its ambition to build a sustainable, robust mining industry deeply rooted in Senegal.
This year stands out for a significant increase in local purchasing: 70 billion CFA francs spent with companies based in the country, and 74% of supplies since the beginning of the year sourced in Senegal, including 48% from local companies — defined as businesses at least 51% owned by Senegalese nationals.
Direct Support for the Local Economy
These results clearly illustrate EGC’s ambition: to strengthen local expertise, support employment, and boost economic opportunities for Senegalese businesses.
During the two-day event, the company showcased several key partners, including International Drilling Company (IDC), Baffou Collection, Hexagone SI, and AccèO — all contributing daily to the reliability and performance of Eramet Grande Côte’s mining operations.
Turning “Local Content” into Reality
This effort demonstrates the concrete implementation of the company’s Local Content policy — a cornerstone of Eramet Group’s CSR roadmap, Act For Positive Mining. By prioritizing purchases and partnerships with Senegalese companies, EGC aims to maximize its positive impact on the national economy, foster local employment, and encourage the development of a strong Senegalese industrial base.
Why This Commitment Is Strategic
As the Senegalese subsidiary of a major mining group, Eramet Grande Côte has, since its creation in 2014, aspired to be an exemplary actor in responsible mining.
By reinjecting a significant share of its supply chain into the local economy, the company helps create jobs, develop skills, and build a sustainable industrial ecosystem.
Such initiatives strengthen stakeholder trust — among local communities, authorities, and suppliers — by proving that mining production can go hand in hand with real socio-economic development for the country.
Perspectives and Ambitions
With this new milestone achieved at the end of November, Eramet Grande Côte confirms its ambition to combine industrial performance with social responsibility. Practices such as local purchasing, partnerships with Senegalese SMEs, and support for the local value chain illustrate Eramet’s vision of building a strong, sustainable mining industry deeply anchored in Senegal.
The goal is clear: to make Grande Côte a model of responsible mining with positive impact — for territories, communities, and the national economy.
