As part of Pink October, the month dedicated to the fight against women’s cancers, Eramet Grande Côte strengthened its commitment to women’s health.
The initiative began internally with an awareness day organized by the Eramet Grande Côte Women’s Association, led by Dr. Serge Fonseca, who emphasized the importance of early screening and preventive measures. Employees actively engaged to support this vital cause.
In Senegal, breast and cervical cancers are among the most common in adults. Since most cases are diagnosed at an advanced stage, prevention and early detection remain essential.
On the ground, Eramet Grande Côte extended this initiative by organizing, in partnership with the Municipality of Diokoul Diawrigne, a free screening campaign for 100 women in the community. A Mobile Radiography and Mammography Unit ensured consultations, attended by the Governor of Louga and the Department Prefect.
This collective effort illustrates Eramet’s commitment to caring for people, in line with its CSR roadmap: Act For Positive Mining.
