Transparency and daily consultation
The teams responsible for community relations are in daily contact with local residents during tours in the villages. The community offices in Diogo and Lompoul serve as local hubs to promote dialogue with local populations and gather their concerns, expectations, or complaints related to the company’s activities, as part of the grievance management mechanism.
Dialogue and transparency are essential during population resettlement operations. The establishment of the Departmental Resettlement Commissions of Thiès and then Louga, as well as the Tourism Technical Committee of Louga, illustrate this commitment. Led by the prefect, they bring together the concerned mayors and representatives of all stakeholders. They determine a fair level of compensation for impacted individuals.

New consultation frameworks
In February 2025, a major initiative was launched in Thieppe with the creation of a consultation framework. Its objective: to strengthen dialogue with local communities and better align Eramet Grande Côte’s actions with their needs.
Its work is carried out by four commissions that monitor projects and their impacts:
- Environment & Biodiversity
- Land Monitoring and Resettlement
- Contributive Action Monitoring: CSR, Local Content, and Employment
- Community Complaints Management and Monitoring.
Other consultation frameworks have also been established in Kapp Gaye and Darou Khoudoss.

An external audit to evaluate the quality of dialogue
By choosing to adhere to the Initiative for a Responsible Mining Assurance – IRMA standard, Eramet Grande Côte has committed to strengthening dialogue with its stakeholders and having its actions audited by independent third parties. This voluntary approach addresses the growing demand from public opinion and civil society actors for better information about our activities.
